NAMASTÉ.

nice to meet you.

Shari Iskandar

Shari Iskandar came to Yin Yoga the way many do, in search of stillness. Her early life was shaped by high expectations, of herself, above all. Shari studied Econometrics, moved through the world of startups, and lived at a pace that left little room for stillness. The weight of that, professionally and personally, eventually led to burnout. It was during that period that she found Yin Yoga.

What began as a healing practice became her path. Through Yin Yoga, she discovered what she had been missing: the value of slowing down, of staying with sensation, of meeting the body without demand. Given her partly Chinese background, the philosophy behind the practice, with its focus on Qi, meridians, and the interplay of yin and yang, felt closer to home than she had expected.

From there, it was a natural step to Traditional Chinese Medicine, which she studied in full, and to her work today as a licensed acupuncturist. Her studies span meditation, Qigong, Ayurveda, kinesiology, mindful yoga, chakra theory, coaching, and Reiki, all of it informing how she understands both the physical and energetic body, and how she teaches.

In her classes, Shari holds space that feels safe and unhurried, guiding students toward their own experience rather than a fixed idea of what a pose should look like. Her teaching is an invitation to presence, with the body, with sensation, with whatever arises, and to meeting yourself with gentleness.

She looks forward to meeting you on the mat, and to sharing the practice that, above all, brought her back to balance.

Jonas Nathan

Rooted in a deep appreciation for Eastern philosophy and culture, Jonas James Nathan brings a loving, thoughtful, and grounded approach to his classes. Born in Australia and having spent his early years travelling through Asia and living in places such as Nepal, he was drawn to traditions that emphasise presence, compassion, and connection, values that continue to inform both his practice and the way he shares it with others.

After settling in the Netherlands, he immersed himself in various martial arts, drawn to the discipline, focus, and self-awareness they cultivate. Over time, however, he realised that constantly operating in “go mode”, always striving and pushing forward was no longer serving him. Deep down, he felt there had to be another way, and soon after, yoga found its way onto his path.

Meditation became the first step towards a different way of life, followed by yoga, initially through more dynamic styles that resonated with his martial arts background. Discovering Yin Yoga marked a turning point. He quickly fell in love with its quiet depth and transformative power. By combining stillness, mindfulness, and yoga asana, the practice opened the door to deeper self-inquiry and a greater sense of clarity, balance, and ease.

Since then, Jonas has dedicated himself to both personal practice and teaching yoga. He has completed more than 500 hours of Yin Yoga training rooted in the Paul Grilley method, alongside extensive studies in Anatomy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupressure, Myofascial Release, Qigong, Chakra Meditation, Yang yoga, Yoga Philosophy, and Ayurveda.

Through his teaching, he hopes to offer others the same sense of clarity, balance, and ease that transformed his own path. He looks forward to welcoming you on the mat.

About Yinergy

Shari and Jonas met during their first Yin Yoga training, at a time when both were navigating their own process of change. That shared foundation, a practice, a philosophy, and a way of approaching life, became the basis of both their relationship and their collaboration.

Over the years, they have built a life together in which Yin Yoga is not just a profession but a way of being. Rooted in the same values they bring to the mat, presence, growth, and a genuine belief in the practice, it remains a constant alongside the fullness of family life, a space where they can be themselves and continue to grow.

Yinergy is the natural expression of that, an invitation to others to experience what Yin Yoga, at its deepest, can offer.
